I agree-

Most of the direct manufacturing cost is for the mechanicals. Defense contractors get ROI, not profit per se. So the greater their costs, the more NBT revenue they realize.

Software is easy to inventory for defense manufacturers, too. Very little space required as compared to frames, motors, etc. So for a mechanically centric defense manufacturer to go into AGV with higher costs using existing manufacturing facilities, is very, very strategic, imho-
