Amateur gunsmith.
I've enjoyed tinkering and building up military-spec AR/M4/ platform rifles for a number of years, and have recently gotten into restoring old military weapons.

Going to start on an old .30 paratrooper carbine at some point, but parts are scarce.
All I have is the barrel currently.
Just wander a gun show now and again and see who has random parts in good condition.

It's enjoyable to build it up, squeeze the trigger, and not only NOT have it blow up in your face, but hit on target.
