When you're talking about a debt to a brokerage, I don't think having your funds off shore is going to help.
An depending on what brokerage you're dealing with (Legit brokerages have become very leery of big short players) it could be a question of "your money or your life"!
So it's the massive shorting of GOSY stock that's responsible for the huge drop in pps? Does that mean if Wallace and Macleod never shorted GOSY stock, they are not liable for the pps fall?
