ifitlooks: According to the date of the ammended 8K, the licensing agreement was terminated prior to the sale of the patents to NeoMedia. I'm guessing that's the reason they didn't want to be obligated to something they knew they were getting ready to sell.
That just goes to show how far in advance the "behind the scenes" work takes place before we see the fruition of developments in the form of a press release.
