Misc info about Mr. Ron Burkle

The Yucaipa Companies, LLC is a principal investment firm specializing in private equity and venture capital investments. Mr. Burkle is a prominent donor to Democratic causes (to suck up to the unions imo) and has made Yucaipa a major investor in the grocery business, having bought stakes in Ralphs, now part of Kroger, and Pathmark, now part of the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company. He has developed a close relationship with the main grocery union, the United Food and Commercial Workers.

Doing past deals with Wilbur Ross is impressive...which means nothing here but I found it interesting who he has done deals with before.

Also note the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union, CLC are on the OUCC. hmmm.. maybe this isn't good.
