Pete, IH gives you a chance to fix mistakes or edit your posts. I think it's 16 minutes. How many times have you posted on RB and when you read it, you realized that you misspelled something or worded something incorrectly? With IH, you can go back and edit it.
After you make a post you have a 15 - 17 minute time period to return to the post and "edit" it. The function was set up so errors could be corrected. Some of us, upon proper reflection, have self-censored and removed posts because of their vulgar or obscene or "whatever" content.
