I can't say for sure, but I think that this might have been someone else's common rail that they were testing. It is ambiguous as written. Note, it states, "....on a commercial diesel common rail fuel injection system...." It doesn't say AFTC's system. Not trying to be argumentative, would just like clarification. I thought that there was some discussion about this a long time ago. Can anyone help?
Exactly. AFT identified a significant wear problem in the current common rail fuel injection systems used by the military for JP-8. The wear issues are for non-AFT components. AFT'S SBIR was to prove to the Army that they could design a fuel injection system running JP-8 that did not suffer from the wear issues.
