The party who knows the exact share count is Manhattan Transfer. Supposedly, the TA is now ungagged. It might be a revealing exercise to drop them a note, or call, and see what they say:

I was told from IR earlier this week that the O/S was still 1.9 billion and the Float was 1.68 billion. I believe it was 1.9 and 1.6 on October 5th. So the Float is up roughly 80 million shares since the 5th.
