Did or did not XOM try every trick in the book, and a few that probably are in a dusty appendix to the original textus receptus, in order to get operatorship in blocks 2 and/or 4?

Did or did not ERHC's partners agree to raise their original bids in order to gain operatorship of these blocks? Yes.
Were ALL these oil companies fooled by those sneaky Nigerians and that blasted seismic... or is there something down there worth plunking down hundreds of millions at a shot, no guarantee?
