I hope so, but I think it's like I said, he was brought in as an advisor with the intention of making him CFO after a few weeks of "grooming" him for the job thru OJT. Maybe we're both right.
I've seen it done that way before, like hiring an operations manager with the intention of moving him to VP Operations, then to VP. It just gives them time to learn the company while moving thru the levels of command structure.
