People (myself included) thought that when he announced the reverse split last year via his blog (See #MSG-52452464). It was reported to the SEC but, of course, nothing ever came of it.
In this case it's different. All he's saying is that the rumors that have been circulating about an imminent merger are false. There's no insider information being released, only clarification of the information out there.
