Gold Hill is no Williamsburg, that's for sure...
This "association" seems pretty short-sighted and fails to understand the greater good that
Comstock Mining will bring to the area. Thankfully, the county administrators see differently and
look to the economic future. Nobody in these towns are getting rich on tourism, that's for sure;
they now have a golden opportunity to capitalize on the rebirth of the Comstock.
The money that Comstock Mining will provide to the local towns through taxes, revenue and reinvestment will more than compensate for the mining activities, which incidentally are well on the outskirts of town. Reclamation bonds have been posted to return the disturbed areas back to
their natural state. From what I've seen, it'll be a big improvement.
Jobs and the promise of economic prosperity will win out, especially in times like this.
I think Comstock Mining will turn out to be a good environmental citizen and will be given
the chance to prove it.
