You know, alex, life isn't easy. I think back to all the times I denied myself instant gratification and put my money away for my future. While my friends all bought new cars every three years, had wide-screen TVs and the latest electronic gadgets I settled for my old 21" TV, my 20 year old car and my land-line. Now my friends are declaring bankruptcy to get out from under the debts owed for all the luxuries they enjoyed and consumed and bitch because their homes have been foreclosed upon. Excuse me? I never expected my lifestyle to be subsidized by others' work nor do I intend to subsidize others' lifestyles by my work. As Lee said, one should be able to enjoy the fruits of one's own labor. I should be the one bitching as I watch the savings I worked so hard to accumulate being dissolved like butter in a frying pan as the dollar and the economy disintegrate.

Bottomline I believe in personal responsibility and that one has to play the hand one is dealt and no point bitching about it. I was listening on the TV to a program about the recent changes in the immigration law where some farmer was saying how he would be put out of business without the illegals because no one else would do the picking for him. You see, the illegals aren't the problem, it is the legal population's unwillingness to do whatever it takes to survive! I've often said that I'd clean toilets at midnight in Grand Central Station if that's what I had to do to survive, but survive I would! Too bad most people aren't willing to do what they have to regardless of how repulsive it might be.
