Sox - I don't believe we are giving it adequate attention and/or funding still ... but there is so much resistance from the dems that it won't matter. Our security will once again fall victim to politics ... unless we are very careful, and are willing to exert the required effort and afford it the needed priority.
I don't believe, however, there are sufficient numbers out there willing to sacrifice anything in order to apply the needed emphasis. Too many want to cast stones and protest 'giving up freedom' ... IMHO
They haven't! And in fact Bush now has a problem with his Homeland Security Budget.
The GOP bill would provide $1.5 billion less than Democrats planned for education, and $500 million less for homeland security programs. Democrats have favored $6 billion to help farmers and ranchers battered by drought last summer, but Republicans have been looking at a smaller figure that would exceed $1 billion.
