Animal Sacrifices

Hebrews 10:18 – and where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin.

BUT, and this is going to really make you crazy, the Bible talks about some animal sacrifices being required in the Messianic Kingdom (when Christ returns), e.g., see Ezekiel 43:19.

Also, a pure red heiffer must be sacrificed, the ashes of which will be used to cleanse the temple for Christ pursuant to Law.

I don’t totally understand why, but found this: Animal sacrifices never took away sin in the first place (Hebrews 10:4), but merely ritually purified the sinner, temporarily but legally, from God’s vantage point, covered the sin with an added function of showing/reminding sinners that a sinful life needs (or needed) a sacrifice of an innocent life to atone for sin and come into the presence of the living God.

Do I sacrifice animals? Of course not. I trust Messiah will clarify what He wants in this regard upon His return.
