Eric has been very honest IMHO about the challenges facing TDGI as a small distributor. In the MoneyTV clip, he mentioned that one problem is getting the right placements in theaters and getting the theater itself to support their movies with trailers, etc. He mentioned this to provide context about exactly why this Regal deal is a game-changer. The exclusivity of the deal means that Regal won't worry so much that if they do promotion, other theaters showing the same movie will benefit.
Yes, any small distributor faces challenges. But it is EP's ability to cut creative deals like this or 20th Century Fox or Seaworld that really highlights the advantages of having a seasoned industry veteran at the helm. He is growing TDGI at a rapid pace, and doing so based on creative dealmaking, with a minimum of dilution.
