#235291 RE: ss9173 #235264

ss: His LinkedIn profile doesn't match the bio in the PR.

The PR says he founded Qwest, but baby bell US WEST merged with Qwest Communications International Inc. on June 30, 2000. He was gone 6 months later.

"Mr. Mannetti previously founded and built Qwest Wireless from the ground up into a $1 billion company with over one million subscribers."

From LinkedIn:
CEO
U S West Wireless
Telecommunications industry
January 1995 – January 2001 (6 years 1 month)

"Founded in 1996 by Philip Anschutz, Qwest began in an unconventional way. Anschutz, who owned the Southern Pacific Railroad at the time, established the subsidiary Southern Pacific Telecommunications Company and began installing the first all-digital, fiber-optic infrastructure along his railroad lines and connecting them into central junctions in strategic locations to serve businesses with high-speed data and T1 services."

"Qwest merged with "Baby Bell" US West on June 30, 2000 through an apparent hostile takeover. Philip Anschutz owned 17.5% of the resulting company."

Still, a nice addition to the board.
