Thanks Bocxman. I appreciate your response. But I'm still not completely clear about your stance. You say that "general screening" is the all-important "blockbuster" indication. But isn't early detection a type of "general screening"? That is where anyone, regardless of age or risk factor, or at least anyone who wants one, could be tested for cancer? It seems to me that that's where we'd sell the most tests, but it is also the one which would take the longest to substantiate.

I agree that it is in Abbott's best interests to use a RECAF test in conjuction with ones they are already selling. Perhaps it would be most correct to say that these adjunctive tests would provide substantial income first, and then the general screening, and follow-up indications you mention will come later.
