that’s a great question, i asked my broker a while back but they didn’t have the details to this specific example so there answer was useless

Common consensus is that this could be treated like a cash divy to the extent that the only day that matters is the ex date

im in the same boat as you. i still have shares i bought in the summer of 2010 but on the ex date i had approx 10x the amount i have now

im hoping things come to light tomorrow & friday
