The only reason people have signed that petition is due to the fact that most still believe in the silly NSS theory that Spongetech was brought down because there was a massive short position and they can all get massively rich because of it.
Anyone(like myself) realized the severity of the situation when the mutt brothers were arrested that it was all a lie. There was no short position and there was no real "business" other than the selling of restricted shares illegally.
If you knew someone was a crook and you knew they were stealing money from innocent people, would you sit back and allow it to continue? Some have morals and can't let that happen. Wish I had listened to those type of people rather than the ones trying to tell me a MOASS was coming.
The product was a gimmick that caught the attention of some people but in the end it wasn't enough to make a solid business from it. Dicon itself, who manufactured the product and many more, was barely able to sustain itself with all products involved.
The question you have to ask, is what would it take to become successful with gimmick products?
It was cheaper to make the product and easier to make money off of selling the restricted shares. That's what penny stocks are truly about..at least 95% or so of them.
