I think cheap NG and the Japan Nuke disaster will keep any new nuke technology on the shelf, even thorium.

Thanks for the links dayneyus, I've had LTBR on my watchlist for some time now. Supposed to be safer, especially favored because of the short half life, so I would also like to know more about it. I don't think that would have helped much in Japan, from what little I know about it. That's why I still favor natural gas. It doesn't measure up to NG for safety with a cleaner environment over coal. I'll check out the links in a few and watch to hear what anyone else says about it, thanks.
