Not sure what you mean by 'promoting the stock.' I've never heard of a company actually saying buy our stock. They give reasons why they think their company will succeed, why their product or service will sell etc.. but at the end of every pr there is a safe harbor statement, so you can't blame them if you buy the stock and it drops or company goes bankrupt. The OS doubling in about two months shows stock is selling very well from all the product promtions, Bieber videos, Today Show demo etc...
