Does it really matter if it detected explosives after the damage has been done? I envisioned the explosive detector as being a deterrent. Like finding explosives at the airport or at a checkpoint. I see little significance in detecting explosives after the explosion? Debris from the explosion will be tested in a lab anyway.
Its like having a detector that will detect a car accident after the fact.
