On the flip side, good news doesn't seem to budge ESFS appreciably. This perverse phenomenon occurs with such regularity it might be called the eco-safe effect: good news moves ESFS sideways or down but not really up.

"'Tis a circle that ever returneth to the selfsame spot," as Edgar Poe would have it. Perhaps a monogram should be written on the eco-safe effect, entitling it Eternally Nine!
