Despite gold selling off violently into the close, gold stocks got swept up in the euphoria of the stock market

While one day does not mark a trend, the major miners all rose on above average volume (then again, virtually all stocks today had extraordinary volume)

The key, in my view, is to watch how the gold stocks perform if if if gold, itself, has a sell off after the manic move higher these past few trading days

If gold should trade back down to 1600s and gold stocks continue to rise, that will be a very telling situation...Moreover, if this occurs, then the gold stocks could be poised for some truly parabolic moves when gold begins its next assault higher after any sell off
