It's not that they are not now open. The question as I understand it is,that at the time the new law went into effect the slots were not licensed. In fact the quarterly report submitted to Pink sheets
state that the game betting part of the parlor was licensed. Nothing about the slots.

A new law NUmber 139-11 , Article 2 went into effect in the D.R. and the slots that were not
licensed were removed and destroyed by the Government. Owners of the illegal slots faced a fine
of $1,000.00 U.S. dollars, 6 months to 2 years in jail.

There was an outcry as many stores claimed they were not aware of the new law and the government
gave a 10 extension to obtain a license, pay taxes, and a yearly fee of about 20,000 pesos.
However a number of the slot machines were destroyed.

I am glad to hear that new machines are been brought in and they will have the sticker so that the
inspectors don't confiscate them. I just wonder how many were confiscated and destroyed.

I find it hard to be accused of not having proof and not been told of not having proof of what?

Everything I post, I can back it up with press releases or the names of government officials I have spoken to. I can supply names, address and telephone number if the accusation comes from a company official. I also would expect an apology afterwards.

There have been the same problems between the principals at the track and the Government for years. What a surprise, govt. isn't very good at running a business.
If everything was running smoothly at the track I would be worried CGAQ won't get it. The fact that there are so many problems going on for so long is why I think CGAQ has a good chance to take over. Why these articles are posted as a negative just goes back to the source of the posts.
