Stills, thanks for "fessing up!" No, really, it's good that all such things be discussed. Special thanks to Chris and Gharma for taking the discussion to a much more sophisticated level.
As i read more about what Augusta's Rosemont Copper mine has gone through with their water and other eco issues out in the sensitive Santa Rita mtns just outside the fairly heavily populated Tucson area, i learn the US Forest Service is showing all signs of permitting their mine, and a US district court judge just backed up the USFS against some enviros and NIMBY types. All b/c the co. is trying to do everything right and is "operating within the law." In light of this situation down there in southeastern Arizona with Augusta/Rosemont, i get the distinct impression that AMY's much smaller footprint, far less intense mining process, and benign tailings will make it far easier to pass muster. Also, most fortunately for AMY and our investment in it, Mohave County is sparsely populated and won't have the kind of enviromentalist resistance movement that Tucson/Pima County has. We've also heard CEO Larry say the Artillery Peak project has the support of the locals. I'm sure the prospect of SIGNIFICANTLY greater local tax revenues will be appreciated by the locals in what that will mean for improved county services in the future....
