Sorry it has taken me so long to reply but I think I would suffer the consequences of possibly losing that good politician. I have no problem having that "good politician" rising up the ranks to the next higher position but I think by forcing an up or out strategy like some of our better service firms would bring about a more dedicated and hopefully more honest politician. We have some politicians at the local and state level that have been there for years. I have no problem making a career politician but they need to move forward. An example would be a State Rep who could only stay for two terms of office and then need to seek another office. Same for a House of REP two terms and then run for another office. Of course I live in MA where our Senior Senator has been there since 1962 and only won because his brother was President at the time.
