I didn't mean to pan it. The concepts involved are things I am familiar with, things I have read about before. One thing, many people don't use the term the 'observer' but prefer to use the term 'interpreter.' It is a distinction about how people view consciousness.

Maybe the easiest way to explain it is to think about dreams. When you are asleep your brain is kind of randomly firing, the 'interpreter' creates a narrative to somehow explain what is going on. It is not so much that you are observing. It is more like you are always trying to create an explanation. Consciousness itself then becomes an attempt to interpret what the brain experiences, in that sense it too is just an illusion.
