It's really easy to cut the wrong stem. And you can't glue 'em back together again. Though last year a pretty big branch of one of my peppas broke in a storm. It didn't come off entirely, but was only hanging on by a thread. Not thinking it would work, I stuck it back together and wrapped it up in duct tape.

It healed as if it'd never happened. But I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised. Grafting works in a similar way.

Just uprooted a couple cukes in my garden, I don't need Thousands of 'em!, lol!
Last year I wanted more than I had, so planted 3 varietys...they all took off like green rockets!
I'll let 1 or 2 just keep growing to see how large they can get...couple zuchinni's too....last year one of the zuchinni's got 30" long 8" diameter.
