DFRAI --Etrade has no such limitation. I was required to set up a Global Account before I could trade Canadian stocks. It was easy to do and then I simply transferred money into the account. Before trading you convert USD to Canadian dollars. Trades are required to be made in a share total divisible by 500 and commissions are higher, 19.99 per trade. I wouldn't buy OPELF until liquidity increases a lot as it is too difficult to trade within a fair price range.
