You don't take a website down and throw up a maintenance splash page if you don't already have an update to communicate. When I spoke with Mr. Gales a couple weeks ago, he was very tight lipped and wouldn't communicate much. Why now tip your hand to something being in the works if it wasn't close? Leaving the website as is would have eliminated or at least cut down on the speculation. This latest splash page, especially the fact that it references "acquisition" in the upper left hand corner makes it very clear something is coming, and I believe soon.
