Yeah I get you now...the funny thing is, the "copy/paste" look was probably actually copy/pasted! It could be a template. The design is uninspiring and the color scheme is too soft/dull, don't know why they didn't go for colors that "pop" more, but it is what it is.
The simple video in the middle of the screen with a call-to-action form nearby is the in thing right now for landing pages.
