I was told by Fidelity that they self settle, which is why they are still trading. If my shares were not properly settled through the DTC at ST then there in lies the problem. If my shares were correctly settled they should transfer without a problem. Also, why would this be a problem just for ST and not ET and AM? This whole story of shares being sent back so far is being related by one poster. I would like to hear from thers who have tranfered from ST. Could someone be trying to discourage transfers from ST? Time will tell.

Excellent must read post.

The problem is that the DTCC settles shares, yes even for Fidelity.

There is no problem with with custody of the shares, as the DTCC lock information on SFIO indicates.

If people are under the impression they can skirt the feds and somehow profit from this, they are sadly mistaken.
