I would love it if the NASDAQ and the NYSE did not have such ridiculous margin requirements to short penny stock. There are several that are clearly way over valued and would be favorable for taking a short position on. The rules for $2.50 in margin per share are not the only problem, the number of brokers allowing one to do so are down to just a few at this point. Many are sticking to the $3-$4 minimum share price because of the less volatility aspect. It certainly would be another piece of leverage against the "awareness" pump and tout that goes on.
