The use of nat gas by WM has been driven by air quality concerns in CA.

As I understand it, the change has proved to be cost effective for WM and improved air quality as a side benefit.

Of course that is the point the Boone Pickens has been making for some time.

Yes it does, North America has a vast amount of natty gas. Unfortunately the US hasnt built anymore LNG terminals anywhere lately. There were some slated for construction under the Bush administration but they got scrapped after BO got elected.

California has I think 1 LNG port with the main emphasis being in the GOM and the east coast
