You'll have a great time if you go. It's easy to second guess myself when I'm DDing, but actually going there helped me a lot. The mill, mines and all the research stuff a guy would need are all right there in Silverton. The only thing it lacks is it's own DRMS office, but that's not much of an attraction for me.

I spent one night at the youth hostel. Had the whole place to myself, since it's used more in the winter by the extreme skiing guys. It was - cheap. LOL.

Check this out - just a few miles from town.
