Whether or not the email is legitimate is irrelevant. I was just passing along something I saw on another board. Even if it is made up, the attorney's response is perfectly plausible. I suspect that if you email or call him you will get a very similar response.
It cracks me up that some people around here think they're going to get inside information from a lawyer working at a firm of this caliber.
