I think that is where Google Plus is changing things and they are learning from the Teachers that are testing it now. Being able to set up groups like you can in Google plus might just resolve that problem. It is still in the test phase but it is being tested with teachers so we will see what the finished product looks like.

Keep in mind that Google has an endless amount of R&D funds.
