mnelsonm - your example actually shows that those stating buys and sells are misrepresented as shorts are correct.
The chart for Google that pops up first makes it easy to see. It shows a short interest of almost 50% in Google trades. 1000 shares of Google would cost you 1/2 million to short!
I could be wrong but everything I have learned has told me it's the way buys and sells are represented that causes that confusion.
I really do wish longs good luck. I was originally going to play this stock. I'm a little gun shy right now.
