That is the PR I quoted earlier. Again, all you have to do is read the document title to see that it is the audit committee, not CCME who hired Piper. It goes on to clarify that "Mr. George Zhou, Independent Director and member of Audit Committee" is the one making the statement. Note the title Independent Director - aka, not a CCME employee, but an outsider awarded a seat on the board.
