DEC has some of the most restrictive regulations in the US. JBII has a brand new technology they have never dealt with before. Much of the process for permits was worked on jointly between JBII and DEC....so they started out this way....this WILL change....i asked John about it at the AGM and he wasn't the least bit concerned about getting his permit modified in the future....this question has been asked and answered multiple times on this board....did you miss the replies to your posts when you asked this before?....

DEC is very concerned about PVC and chlorine. By specifying pre-consumer waste, which is what JBI was asking for by the way, DEC feels that there is much greater control over the possibility of PVC entering the processor.

JBI chose not to fight the battle for source separated plastic during the initial permitting process. There were already too many issues to deal with since NYDEC had never seen a facility like JBI's before.

JBI may choose to ask DEC for additional sourcing privileges in the future.

Hey.... the ink has just barely dried on the permits for the first plastic to fuel facility licensed in the US. Give DEC a chance to feel comfortable with the operation of the facility and get a track record established before we go back to them and ask for more.
