Isn't the air flowing through the filters pores what allows the release of the nicotine?

All they need to do is make the sensor slightly more sensitive.

I think a threaded unit would be ideal, but that is a complete redesign. It could also have some sort of gummy substrate that seals when heated. Decreasing the diameter of the base of the filter would make a tighter fit as well.

So many ways to fix it.
