The filter paper, if allowed to get to wet for a long period of time, disintegrates. Hang that RE/AL on dry lips.

editke - Yes, that is a great technical insight you have given into the cause of the sensitivity issue and a possible hard change to the device so as to correct it. I am not sure how difficult it would be for the company to tweak the design and manufacturing so as to make the change that you outline with enlarging the outer radius of part #26 but it sounds like you hit the nail on the head with the cause of the issue being primarily a problem with the device not having a perfectly airtight seal between those parts which causes too much ambient air to alter the air flow from the internal chambers though to the end of the filter. This causes a lower pressure differential in which case the level of suction is diminished which in turn does not trigger the device to turn on and heat (detection of suction). I think though that modifications to whatever control chip they have in the electronics section of the device should be able to be changed rather easily (new etching of chip with extra flash wafer AND chip which allows I/O from USB to onboard controller).

editke/tombe.....others......SOMEONE needs to YOUTUBE how this done......as i mentioned earlier, i have a replacement coming in or i would do it..........surely someone on this thread could post a video on 'exactly' how to do this........this is important, imo......
