It is a natural progression to qualify and list with a more prestigious exchange. However, there are some very large, well know companies that have bucked the trend and stayed pink. One of the major reasons to move is to meet the investment criterion of major institutions such as mutual funds. Typically, a mutual fund cannot invest in a pink company and the value of the stock must be over $5.00 per share. Additionally, brokerage firms will not establish margin accounts for pink stocks or stocks selling for less than $4.00 per share in the case of Scottrade. The various exchanges have minimum reporting requirements and other criterion that are considered beneficial to the overall prestige of the companies listed.

Well I would say its definetly interesting seeing weekly filings come out and speculating on the reasons why other then the obovious.

I know for one and this is pure speculation on my part that if part of the reasons for these are a possible move to a more respected excahnge it would take the argument of many including myself at times about this being a pink and because of that anything is possible right off the table. So I guess time will tell if the company has an agenda not made public yet behind them.
