When calculate r we do not need assumption about normality of data. Normal distribution assumption is needed when we test hypothesis (r=0 r>0).

What do you really think about TBBC case? IMO, TBBC will go up again, there is no bad news about this stock. The price of this stock is distorted because of being short by many people. At this price level, this stock cannot be short again. hence I think that it will go up to its true value again.
