Good morning Gil..... It is possible that RP's standards do vary from the rest of the world.

And yes, our company required us to read Drucker, as well as many other books on productivity, management by objectives, direct and standard costing, short term and long range planning, and probably a dozen more involving management concepts.

All of this knowledge contributed to the success of the company and as a result, we went from a 20 million a year to a 2 billion dollar company during a 20 year period, and one year we were #1 in Fortunes 500, Return on Investment.

Not bad, and not throwing stones, but we fired many presidents and VPs for achieving a lot more than the edig management, but not in accordance with their stated objectives. And this happened during good and bad times, you still have to meet specific objectives.

It's a philosophy I happen to believe in, the responsibility is with management, not the marketplace.
