kozuh -- that's correct -- and as in the eye of a hurricane, the air in the (relatively) clear center of a large and powerful tornado is sinking, though, consistent with a large and powerful tornado being much more compact and thus more intense than any hurrican eyewall, much more rapidly than in the eye of a hurricane (where the subsidence is very gentle) -- I recall reading that the air in the center of the 1999 Moore tornado was measured (very near ground level) headed straight down at something like 100 mph
