It seemed over the weekend we had taken a giant step forward with the reluctant approval from the oil council. Now, it appears we have taken that same giant step backward plus maybe a couple small ones with the latest resignations. The new apointees will no doubt have to be brought up to speed on all the bickering before they can make their recommendations. The appointees are from FM's party so no doubt they will eventually vote to approve but yet another delay. FM awaits the approval from the oil council for his own political well being, before he will sign off on the awards. I don't think this is required by treaty, but certainly required for him to keep the peace in STP.
Yes, of course, this is known by all but just thought I would put it to words to clarify it in my own mind.
It is my belief that the awards arenot in doubt. We just need to keep in mind how long it took to award block 1 to keep this all in perspective.
