The team as a whole is necessary. James' resume is posted in the stickies as an asset because of his experience. We don't know what is happening behind the scenes and hopefully they are functioning as a team.
Whether the new information we have received through this MB is real or not, I think it is safe to assume that these past few months have been trying times. If they can emerge with the funds to continue they will probably be stronger for it and be better prepared.
